| I was born on May 2, 1965 in Newark, New Jersey to Mr. and Mrs James L Harvey. As a child struggling with daily life, I manage to maintain focus on my goals in life. I knew what I wanted out of life, and knew how to stick with my goals. Being the oldest of five children, I had a lot of responsibilities that were sometimes overwhelming for any child at the age of 12. At the age of 15, I tried to commit suicide several times; "Could there have been an angel watching over me?" This is the question I often asked myself once I came to the realization that I was still alive, even after trying suicide for more than 8 times.
In 1981, I, my sister, and my mother moved to Pensacola FL. I married fresh out of high school to my first husband--my high school sweetheart. That marriage later ended in divorced. I married again, and that marriage lasted 14 years before it too, ended in a divorce.
In 1987, I graduated from Opportunities Industrialization Center (O.I.C.), in Rockford, IL, where I received a certificate of Studies in Secretarial Science. After moving back home, I attened a local Junior college, Pensacola Junior College where I received an A.S. Degree in Medical Secretary Technology in August of 1999. In September of 1999, I moved to Bloomington, Indiana to attend Indiana University School of Medicine, but God had a different route for me to take, and little did I know, this would be the first step taken in my walk of this ministry. |
